Rescue Me ID: 16-10-12-00041Mitsy (female)
Born 1/29/2015, Mitsy is a 18-month old, 10#, spayed, shih tzu/ lhasa apso cross. She loves stuffed toys that squeak and little treats. She has a mellow temperament, is good with other dogs and cats, and is crate trained and house trained. Mitsy does need to go out often, so having a human that can meet her needs, or give her access to the outdoors (perhaps through a doggie door?) will be needed. She can be taken out without a leash and she comes right back when called. She was a little standoffish the first few hours in rescue, but now she is a love bug. Mitsy will sleep with you, or in a doggie bed, but she likes to be close and really does not want to leave her person's side. Now, not every dog (or person) is perfect, so Mitsy has some issues to work on. Mitsy was an owner surrender from an owner that said he 'had no time for her.' He added that she had separation anxiety, and liked to tear up paper or 'act out,' if left alone. While it is still unknown how Mitsy is with kids, we feel grateful to the owner for surrendering her to a rescue and believe that Mitsy's 'issues' can be resolved by a home that has more time for this sweet little girl and patience to teach her what is right and what is wrong. Mitsy currently resides at our Idaho rescue. Adoption fee is $350.00. Transport may be available to approved adopters. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-10-06-00466Scruffy (male)
Welcome Scruffy- He's 14 years old and as sweet as they come, small and large dog friendly and seems to like the cats at his foster home too. He'd do we'll in a quiet to medium energy home and someone who just wants to offer him love and a soft bed. Scruffy does best with a person who is with him most of the day and likes to take him places, to include car rides. His previous owner was a retired gentleman who passed away and Scruffy was use to his human companionship. He seems a bit lost and will vocalize if he's left alone, we understand this transition of having a Dad for 14 years and winding up in a shelter has been very confusing for him. To have him succeed we would really like his next owner to understand fully his needs. Scruffy recently had major surgery to remove kidney stones and is on a special diet that he needs to remain on to make sure those hurtful stones don't return. He does have a heart murmur but as you can tell he's still up for a daily walk or run, then you might find him curling up for a afternoon nap. He'd prefer no small children and we would love it if he could also find a fur companion, dog or cat he isn't picky. A home without too many stairs would be best for him and a home with moderate activity. He likes leisurely walks, no dog parks please. He is waiting to meet you! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-08-11-00507Little Ann (female)
Little Ann was born in my house she has lived with us her entire life. However, we have to relocate to Southern California and we can not bring her along. Little Ann would be great for an older person because she is very snuggly laid back. Or anyone for that matter. She has had two back surgeries to correct a disc issue. The last one was in 2011. She is fully recovered and according to the neurologist surgeon has no problems at all. She is a very happy dog and just likes hanging around the house and operate on squeaky toys. Those darn squeakers need to be destroyed. lol

Rescue Me ID: 16-08-09-00287Big Dan (male)
Big Dan is a very sweet boy who is very submissive. All he would love to do is lay on someone's lab and snuggle all day long. He has no problems health wise except for his teeth are in bad shape . Otherwise he is great. He acts like a snuggly bear and is usually very happy go lucky. He would be great for an older person to just sit with and snuggle lots.

Lhasa Apso Dogs can make good pets in Washington if they match your IifestyIe. The Lhasa Apso is a darling long haired lap dog. Lhasa Apsos have a loud bark and make good watchdogs. Lhasa Apsos are friendly, but do not like to be teased by children. Lhasa Apsos are best suited to homes where they are the only pet, and need a firm master. Lhasa Apsos need to be with their people, and are good dogs with which to travel. This breed can live in an apartment if it gets enough activity and is walked every day.
