Rescue Me ID: 17-01-07-00376Punkin (male)

Lhasa Apso    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Looking for a nice retirement home is our 'Old Man Punkin', or Punkin for short. Really, you can call him anything you want, he wont always hear you but he will wag his tail and mosey his way to you to say hi once he finds you. Punkin came to us after circumstances left him with no where to go. He has taken it all in stride even with the vet visits and talk of a neuter. At around 10 years old Punkin has some of the usual old man health issues, his hearing isn't great and he does require meds for his glaucoma and dry eye, but as in true Punkin style he just rolls with it with no protest. Punkin is housebroke but has had some marking ... (Read More)naughtiness probably due to other males in potty training processes. Belly wraps work wonders ;) If you think you are ready to take on this amount of adorable handsomeness and along with the medications and care of this senior boy, please email your interest and we can answer more questions. Because of his fear due tot his past he is okay with older children over the age of 10 who are kind and gentle to animals. He wants to live in a quiet home, not loud and chaotic. Loves walks and will make a great companion for someone who is home a lot. He loves to dance for treats, very food motivated. lnteresting Lhasa Apso Trivia Low-Cost Oregon Spay & Neuter Clinics
The Lhasa Apso was once used as a monastery watchdog. Lhasa Apsos are named after the Tibetan city of Lhasa, a sacred place. According to Tibetan legend, when the master of a Lhasa Apso died, his soul would enter the body of his dog, and so these dogs were considered sacred.
