|Rescue Me ID: 15-04-23-00284Rocco (male)|
I purchased Rocco when he was 6 months old from a show dog breeder. He is a pure breed Lhasa Apso. This was the THIRD Lhasa Apso I had purchased from this breeder, so I was confident I would receive another loving dog. From the moment I met Rocco I could tell something was different. On the night I brought him home, I let him outside in the yard and he tried to escape. My family and I had to corner him and capture him. He ended up biting my hand. Night one. Over the years, I have tried to deal with the issue of him biting, because I really wanted this to work. I really liked this breed of dog from this particular breeder. He is loving towards ME, but no one else. Rocco can be very energetic. In general, he is indifferent to other people and other dogs. But on occasion (too often, lately), Rocco will bite people in the leg (unprovoked) and also other dogs in FACE (unprovoked). As a result, I keep him confined (part-time) and I don't take him for walks anymore. He is a nervous dog that barks at pretty much anything: thunder, the ice maker on our refrigerator, a creek in the floor, etc. He also defecates on our carpet daily, even though he is let out in the yard 5/6 times daily. I believe there is a chance he can be trained. He needs someone who's willing to spend alot of time working with him. (Less)

Cashew has some ear problems, he can hear a bit but mostly looks for sign language. He is 8 years old and I just don't want him anymore. to a good loving home tho, he is use to kids, babies & adults. until recently he was great with other dogs lately he growls a bit when they walk by but never chases after them. he does like to wonder so he must always be on a lead.

Lhasa Apso Dogs can make good pets in Michigan if they match your IifestyIe. The Lhasa Apso is a darling long haired lap dog. Lhasa Apsos have a loud bark and make good watchdogs. Lhasa Apsos are friendly, but do not like to be teased by children. Lhasa Apsos are best suited to homes where they are the only pet, and need a firm master. Lhasa Apsos need to be with their people, and are good dogs with which to travel. This breed can live in an apartment if it gets enough activity and is walked every day.
