Baby is a very sweet, 21-pound, calm and quiet, eight-year-old, female Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso-mix looking for a very special dog-loving guardian. Baby was brought to the vet by her family to be euthanized because she was suffering from ear and eye infections. Luckily the vet tech at the animal hospital, asked if she could take her home and treat her instead of euthanizing her. Baby's eye and ear infections are on the mend and she's living happily in a loving foster home. She is perfectly housebroken and good with people of all ages - including children. She follows her foster mom from room to room in her home. However, she will bite if someone tries to pick her up, or touch her paws. She is wonderful with cats and good with select dogs. She prefers small dogs to big fluffy dogs like Chows. Her best friends at her foster home are a Chihuahua and a cat. She is looking for a home where someone is home more often than not. She would love to live with a retired person or someone who works from home. And, she is looking for someone who will have the patience to allow her the time to adjust to her new home. Baby loves to go swimming at the lake, and loves her walks. She is now healthy, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped and heartworm-tested negative. She does need eye drops daily to keep her comfortable and she may have occasional ear infections that her new guardian would need to watch for. To meet and possibly adopt Baby, please contact Navelle at email@example.com or 773-849-4334. Her adoption fee of $200 benefits the rescued pets of FCACC. (Less)

Check out our resident Wascally Wabbit! This little scruff ball is Rabbit, a cute, feisty, lovable 6 year old Lhasa Apso mix. Rabbit arrived at ACL as a stray where he was found in someone's yard during a cold snap. Poor Rabbit! Luckily, he was caught by a Good Samaritan and has spent the last couple of weeks decompressing here at the shelter and in a foster home. He's a sweet little dog who has lots of spunk and sass! He loves to go for walks and get his butt scratched! Rabbit is a little nervous with intrusive handling, which is understandable since he's spent so much time on his own. He'll do well with an experienced small dog owner that knows how to give him space while he adjusts. Rabbit loves people, so with some respect and patience, he's sure to blossom into relaxed, loving dog! Rabbit will do best in adult homes only. He's good with other mellow small dogs, and he may adjust to a confident kitty, too! Please email Gabrielle at firstname.lastname@example.org for more info on meeting this scruff nugget while he lives in foster care! (Less)

Lhasa Apso Dogs can make good pets in Illinois if they match your IifestyIe. The Lhasa Apso is a darling long haired lap dog. Lhasa Apsos have a loud bark and make good watchdogs. Lhasa Apsos are friendly, but do not like to be teased by children. Lhasa Apsos are best suited to homes where they are the only pet, and need a firm master. Lhasa Apsos need to be with their people, and are good dogs with which to travel. This breed can live in an apartment if it gets enough activity and is walked every day.
